About the Artist

Lolita Valderrama Savage is an artist whose love of nature is clearly reflected in her paintings.  She is an artist who, whether using oils, pastels, ink, pencil or watercolours, creates an exuberant and impressionistic sense of the beauty that she sees in the world around her.

Lolita's world encompassses the land of her birth, the Philippines and the many places she has lived in.  She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila and a Diploma from the Accademia di Belle Arte in Florence, Italy under the supervision of Professor Silvio Loffredo.  She lived in Sweden painting with her late mentor, the artist Steffan Hallstrom.

Lolita spends part of the year painting in Tuscany and exhibits both in the U.S. and throughout Europe.  In 1999, she was one of 8 internationally acclaimed artists presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.  Her work was also exhibited in a month-long solo art exhibit at "Casa de Dante (Alighieri)" in the historic center of Florence jointly sponsored by the Comune de Firenze and the Philippine Embassy in Italy.  In 2006 after an exhibition in Paris, she participated in the "Art for Peace" auction at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Lolita Valderrama Savage's work can be found in private collections and was most recently exhibited at the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. and at the Pegalston Gallery and the Philippine Center in New York City.
